I’ve been in the learning and performance space since the 1990s doing everything from design, delivery, performance support and evaluation. As a mentor, I can support people:
- Working across languages and cultures
- Strengthening learning transfer and evaluation
- Designing programs for application, follow up and results
- Driving innovation and mind change
- Growing and managing a consulting practice

Raised in the United States, I moved to Tokyo, Japan in 1992 and have lived here since. In 2003, I founded the training vendor Idea Development to focus on innovation, communication, working across cultures and leadership. Idea works with roughly 100 major companies and 30,000 participants a year.

Since 2013, I’ve worked with Ian Townley to improve learning transfer in the industry. We cofounded Practical Training Transfer to support that cause and regularly speak at industry events and write articles about how to design learning that gets applied on the job and leads to business results.

I’m also a director of ATD Member Network Japan.
